Background and Timetable

In December 2008 following discussions at its November Committee meeting the Matson & Robinswood Residents Group convened an open meeting at the Matson One Stop Plus involving representatives from the Matson & Robinswood Community Partnership, its Environmental Sub Group, the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and the Gloucestershire Gateway Trust. This meeting explored the possibility of creating a new Community Environmental Strategy and Action Plan in 2009 that will practically and sustainably improve the quality of life for local residents and local wildlife.

At this meeting all agreed to support the development of a simple Community Environmental Strategy linked to a practical 3 year Action Plan which would help local residents and other stakeholders to develop a more sustainable community which is rich in wildlife and valued by everyone. The working timetable for the Strategy development process is outlined below. The development process and the long term strategy will aim to be inclusive of all elements of the community such as the young and old. The development of this strategy will be based on the community and its local environment and naturally incorporates areas such as Robinswood Hill, Sneedhams Green and Saintbridge regardless of their position in relation to the electoral ward of Matson & Robinswood.

The actions will be started and carried out by a wide range of local residents and organisations and recorded through the Community Environmental Subgroup who will use the plan as a practical way to improve the local environment.

Click on the links to see the plans for each theme. We'll soon add what we've done so far and you can follow our progress over the next three years.
